NYC 311 Service Request Analyzer
The question
What can a carefully selected month of NYC service requests reveal about demand, resolution time, and unusual daily activity?

Collected
Built a reproducible January 2025 sample from NYC Open Data instead of relying on a pre-cleaned classroom dataset.
Cleaned
Standardized columns, parsed dates, handled missing values, and rejected impossible resolution times.
Analyzed
Compared complaint types, boroughs, channels, agencies, resolution times, and daily volume.
Tested
Wrote 11 tests covering the analysis functions, cleaning rules, calculations, and edge cases.

What makes the result credible
The 708-row starting sample was systematic, not random, so I do not present it as the full month or as proof about all 311 activity. After cleaning, 707 valid requests remained. The analysis code, visualizations, and test suite are separated by responsibility.
